UAWB x Foodstuffs Panel: "Becoming a Boss: Building a Personal Brand and Breaking Barriers"

Our second “Professional Development” initiative was in collaboration with our amazing sponsor Foodstuffs New Zealand. The event introduced themes of building a personal brand and breaking barriers, sometimes neglected but vital topics for up and coming women in business!

In panels like these we hope our members are able to learn directly from these inspiring women’s experiences and candid guidance. It was fantastic to see a great turnout of members and hear thought provoking questions about resiliency, personal brand, and working in a male-dominated environment. In response to those questions, our wonderful panelists Niah Taylor and Liezl Olivier provided insightful and nuanced answers.

We are very grateful to both panelists for sharing their experiences working in male-dominated industries, navigating other difficult work environments, practising mindfulness in reaching career aspirations, and providing valuable guidance to our members.

It was also fantastic to work alongside Foodstuffs representatives Ruawai Te Rata and Levi Sherwin who helped us coordinate this panel. Foodstuffs also generously gifted some cool merch and New World gift cards to members!

And typical to UAWB's brand, there was some delicious catering in the form of Best Ugly Bagels and Kombucha as a lunch treat for everyone to enjoy!
