UAWB Launch Event 2024

On Wednesday, 13th March, we hosted 250 people for the University of Auckland’s Women in Business Launch Event of 2024. The University of Auckland’s Business building foyer was transformed with pink lights and balloons. During the first thirty minutes, each of our members had an opportunity to network with each other and sponsors.

We offered cheese boards, meter-long pizzas, and pink cupcakes to our members and the wider UAWB community. We were fortunate to receive sponsorship from No Ugly and Anew Drinks. Additionally, a photobooth was available for everyone to enjoy throughout the evening. Shortly after, the Director of Community welcomed all members to the event and UAWB 2024 following the networking session. The President's followed with an address to our members. Three inspirational guest speakers joined us for the evening: Anna Mowbray, Carrie Hurihanganui, and Tessa Tierny. These successful women each shared speeches that included life stories, valuable career insights, inspiration, and much more from their career journeys and life experiences. Following these speeches, we had a panel-style Q&A session for our members.

The final part of the evening was the announcement of the giveaway winners. We had sponsors provide prizes from Lululemon, Zoe & Morgan, Flo & Frankie, Caitlin Crisp, Buttermilk Accessories, Bar Albert, and Mushborn. We received positive feedback about the event, and all members enjoyed themselves. We thank all members for being a part of the club this year and all those who attended the event to celebrate the beginning of another successful year of UAWB. Special thanks to the Director of Community Lauren Page, and the rest of the executives for their part in organising an incredible event

UAWB x UBS Paint & Sip

On Wednesday, 17th April, 24 eager students from our University of Auckland Women in Business club joined UBS in an interactive Paint & Sip session.

The first portion of the evening was dedicated to allowing members to socialize with the team at UBS over some nibbles and drinks. Aimee and Sam shared their career journeys and discussed their day-to-day responsibilities, offering members valuable insights into the investment banking industry and the services provided by UBS.

UAWB members spent the rest of the evening unleashing their creativity in the Paint & Sip session, where they created a canvas art piece. The session fostered meaningful conversations in a relaxed atmosphere.

Overall, the evening was a success, with all participants enjoying the engaging environment and the opportunity to connect with the team at UBS. We want to thank UBS for our ongoing support over the years, and we admire their commitment to supporting women in the industry.
